Belgian Waffle Ride Montana 2026

Gravel, Good Friends, and a Few Questionable Decisions
Tucked into the heart of southwest Montana, Bozeman is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and enough world-class riding to keep you busy long after race weekend is over. It's one of those places where bringing your bike is mandatory, and bringing an extra day or two is highly recommended.
A Little Pre-Race "Training"
Before race weekend officially kicked off, we discovered Bozeman had added a brand-new set of dirt jumps to the city's BMX track.
Naturally, the only logical thing to do was ride them... on gravel bikes.
As it turns out, gravel bikes are surprisingly competent dirt jumpers. Are they supposed to be? Probably not. Did we have fun anyway? Absolutely.
(If you haven't seen the reel yet, it's worth a watch.)

Between the Tubes
One of the best parts of traveling with the BWR series is catching up with friends along the way.
This stop gave us the perfect opportunity to film the first episode of Between the Tubes with ALMSTHRE athlete Lance Haidet.
Instead of another finish-line interview, we found a quiet stream outside Bozeman and asked Lance the questions that really matter... or at least the questions the internet thought mattered.
Sponsors, race tactics, tire pressure, questionable fan submissions—it all made the cut.
(Episode One is live now if you'd like to watch.)

Race Day
The fourth stop of the Quad-Tripel Crown of Gravel once again delivered everything we've come to expect from Montana.
Fast racing. Big scenery. Strong fields. And a finish that looked less like a gravel race and more like the final corner of a Supercross LCQ.
Riders threw everything they had at the line.
Lance fought his way to a hard-earned third-place finish after another aggressive race, capping off what was one of the most exciting finishes we've seen all season.
Sometimes gravel racing comes down to watts.
Sometimes it comes down to who can suffer the longest.
Sometimes it comes down to both.

On to the Next Adventure
The race might be over, but the road trip isn't.
Next up is SBT GRVL, where our friends Quincy and Mitch are taking on one of the biggest gravel races in the country aboard a tandem bicycle.
If you haven't heard their story, they've spent the last several years living aboard a sailboat in Mexico before trading the ocean for life on the road; exploring by bike, by foot, and just about every other way imaginable.
It's exactly the kind of adventure that reminds us why we love this community.
Having said that...
We still have absolutely no idea why anyone would willingly race a gravel event on a tandem.
We'll be cheering them on anyway.

Thanks for Following Along
One of our favorite parts of these events isn't just the racing; it's the people.
The conversations in parking lots. The post-race stories over waffles and beer. Meeting familiar faces in new places and watching this community continue to grow.
Whether you're pinning on a race number, heading out for an after-work spin, or simply taking the long way home, thanks for bringing ALMSTHRE along for the ride.
We'll see you down the road.
