With seven Tour de France green jerseys—the most anyone’s ever won—and three straight World Championship titles, his career stats speak for themselves. But Sagan’s appeal goes beyond the results. Whether he’s pulling off an outrageous sprint, carving through a descent like it’s a work of art, or popping wheelies just to entertain the crowd, he brings a personality to cycling that’s equal parts skill and showmanship. He’s the kind of rider who makes you want to watch, not just for the race but for the unpredictable magic he brings to it. Having him swing by Cadence Cyclery Encinitas was a real moment for us—a chance to meet someone who’s not just shaped the sport but reminded everyone why riding bikes is so much fun in the first place.

This weekend we hit the 11th annual Filthy 50, a mountain bike race that’s 52 miles with 3,800 feet of climbing. It’s definitely not a casual ride—people often underestimate it based on the numbers, but by the end, you know you’ve been tested.
Cadence Cyclery Encinitas recently had the privilege of hosting PAS Normal Studios for their Mid Summer 200K ride. Regardless of your opinion of the PAS brand, there is no denying one thing. Between their US-based youth cycling program and now this group ride, they are here to impact the cycling community for the better. And they have some deeply passionate people working hard to make it happen. We are looking forward to more of this and hope to aid in their efforts however we can.
I’ve always believed that having a plan is good, but being flexible is even better. Our recent trip to Montana proved that point in the best way possible.
