ALMSTHRE Group Ride: The First of Many

We finally did it. Our first official-ish ALMSTHRE group ride out of the new HQ in Carlsbad, California. We’d been talking about this forever, but something always seemed to get in the way—until now. One ride down, many more to go.

The Ride

41 miles. 4,500 feet of climbing. A nearly perfect 60/40 dirt-to-road ratio. North County at its finest.

We rolled out as a crew of 20-30, the sun blessing us with mid-60s to low 70s after a week of rain. Ideal conditions, right? Well, about 10 miles in, it became clear that some folks were here to hammer. I, however, was not. After holding onto a wheel for a bit, a group of five of us (accidentally) took a scenic detour and never saw the rest of the pack again. If you’re wondering why the video makes it look like only five people showed up—well, now you know.

Was it an amazing loop? Yes. Do you want to ride it yourself? Also yes.

Full GPS details are in the link below. Take it, ride it, tweak it—just don’t follow me, because apparently, I make wrong turns.

See you next month. Same vibe, same (lack of) structure.
